A message from Club Chairman Steve McSweeney

Dear Members,

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the teams and individual members that have represented our club this year. We have had an incredibly successful season winning most if not all of the silverware available in Middlesex. I would also like to thank all the members that organised the teams either as captain or secretaries, I know how thankless and difficult this can be.

The 14th hole has been in play now for 5 months, I still can’t find a club in my bag that will get me to the middle of the green. I would once again like to thank Dan and all his team for the hard work that went into completing this job. As far as the legal side of this, it has now been signed off by both parties and as a club we can now move forward.

You may have seen a gentleman around the club meeting with board and committee members. He is Mr Jerry Kilby from Kanda Golf, we have asked them to review the governance of our golf club. The finalised document will be sent out to all our members before the AGM next year, this will give you all a chance to study the document and we will have a vote and hopefully it will be passed.

With regards to the land adjacent to the fourth hole (Ass House Lane) this is still ongoing. We have set a deadline for the developer, and I hope to have some news for you shortly.

I would like to add that it is great to see so many new faces around the club, I hope we as older members are helping you settle in, and I hope you are all enjoying your golf. There are plenty of roll ups and competitions for you to join in with, all the details are available on the website or from the office. I know it is a busy time for everyone but there are plenty of events going on that need our support. Keep an eye out on the notice boards in the clubhouse and book your tickets in the office or online.

I hope to meet or play some golf with you all this coming year , thank you all for your continued support and we are all looking ahead to a great year in 2024.
